Hello Everyone

I just got my first GI 1911 - Its Remington Rand Serial # 1290XXX 1943 Manufacture - FJA Inspection Mark, HS Barrel. Comes with a holster, presentation box with Remington Brass Logo. Hard to find it this condition in Canada.

I can't wait for it to get here. Here's some pics the seller send me.

The logo is for the Remington Arms Company. The gun was made by Remington Rand . . . the typewriter company. :)

A creative storage case to be sure. From the photo it appears the previous owner may have stored the gun in the holster. Maybe not the best idea.

The best Marine issue .45 I had was a 1943 Rem-Rand. I gotta get one of those before 2011!

I'd keep it away from that foam as well..... it too loves moisture. :nono:
