I just did my transfer paperwork for my new Commander, tonite...ordered it thru Bud's (thanks to some of you guys!) and I'm very pleased. It's a great looking/feeling Colt (but then, which one isn't?) and is Colt #7 in my modest collection. I sold a S&W 4006 TSW to get the scratch for the Commander & there's no doubt it was the right move! When I pick 'er up on Wednesday, I'll post some pics (not that you guys haven't seen a Commander, before!)... :D

We can never see too many Commanders G-Man ;)! Congrats on your new purchase...lucky number 7 :D! I just bought a Commander myself (an early series-80), and after a great range session yesterday, am very pleased. ..Not that i needed any kind of reassurance...it's a Colt!
Lookin' forward to those pics!

Thanks, guys...it's Model O4961 (blued with rosewood double diamond grips).

3 of my Gov't Models are stainless, so I figured it was time for a "change". I had never handled a Commander before last night; as much as I love Gov't Models, the Commander felt really good in my hand. The blue/rosewood looks absolutely classic, too!

Yes, I remember when I hit 10 Colt 1911's. Then I realized I had a Colt Trooper MkIII, a Python and a Colt Double Eagle. Good heavens, that was 13 guns. Bad luck. I just had to buy another Colt. I went looking for an Anaconda but wound up with a used Gold Cup in great shape. Then I got home and remembered I forgot to count the Colt 45 SA. Oops. Oh well. I didn't want to take the Gold Cup back and upset the nice store owner so I kept it.

G-man-You have seven. That is one a day for this week. You will need to get more for next week.

Any way, nice find. I hope you enjoy it thoroughly.
