Missing spring from Series 2 safety plunger?

Is the plunger in the slide supposed to be spring loaded down to block the firing pin? Mine has no spring pressure and if I turn the slide upside down the plunger drop away and I can move the firing pin forward.

There should be a spring in place with the firing pin safety block in the slide.

Did you change your sights and loose the spring?

Have taken the sight off after seeing the plunger move when then the slide was turned up side down. There was no spring but it looked like there should have been one judging by the recess in the top of the plunger. I took it off inside a large trash bag in case a spring launched itself during sight removal.

I called Kimber. They are giving me a spring. Good service.
