Just wanted to post a picture of my newest Colt:
Series 80 XSE Combat Commander. Really happy to be able to provide this pistol with a new home. Can anyone provide date of manufacture based on S/N FC268**E? Better picture and range report to follow:

Very nice find - I passed a used one up a couple of years ago and have kicked myself frequently for doing that!

Okay guys finally got some quality time with my new XSE this weekend.
I began Friday evening with a complete detail stipping as gun was very dirty, the good news was that everything appeared to be in good working order and well fitted. I also spent some time polishing the flats of the gun with a product called Flitz to remove surface scratches and replaced the factory grips with a set of Colt smooth black corian grips. The original grip screws were also replaced with a set of SS ones in order to achieve a greater contrast.
Saturday I was able to get out to the range for some well deserved trigger time. I shot 50 rds of reloads (230 gr. Hornady XTP JHP over 4.6 gr. of TiteGroup). No function problems noted and gun did an admirable job of shooting to POA.

Corian? Never knew they made stocks from Corian. Where would someone get corian stocks from? That's very interesting.
Your pistol looks good, Flitz is great stuff!
