is there a .22 caliber conversion kit I can get that will fit my RIA tactical? I've been looking at the Kimber one and it says it fits most full size 1911 pistols with original browning design ( my RIA fits this bill ) but I just wanted to make sure before I dish out 3 bills and order one.

Also there's the Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit, how are these and will it fit on my RIA?

Hmmmm...ive been thinking about getting a .22 conversion kit too. I'd like to know as well. Love that cheap .22 ammo. LOL.

I just bought the Kimber unit for my Tactical. The slide to frame fit was VERY tight and I had to slighty enlarge the notch in the slide before the safety would engage. I worked the slide dry a few times then worked it quite a few times with Flitz for a lube. It now runs flawlessly and is very accurate.

The Kimber will work just fine. But if you want accuracy and want the slide to lockback after the last round, the Advantage Arms is a better choice. Strictly for accuracy, the Marvel is best...but a bit more expensive.

The Advantage Arms is working fine on my Armscor, same as the RIA. See the threads below with Advantage Arms in the subject.
