Does anyone have one i finally broke down and ordered one today from my local dealer. He tried to sell me on a kimber but my sig xo is my favorite pistol right now and has compleatly replaced my glock as a off duty carry gun . I would rather have the night sights and it gave me an excuse to buy a new gun. I am worried about the slide finish though is it the same as the p228 i carried in the army because it held up ok but showed wear easily but i dont know how long it took to get that way.

The nitron finish on sigs wears pretty quickly. The bright side is that there is stainless underneath so you can remove the nitron and have a stainless finish when it starts coming off. That is except for sigs that have alloy frames, but they still have stainless slides underneath.

I carry mine (STX but still Nitron over stainless slide) and my Nitron looks like the day it was applied...I think in the Military, the M11 had SiGs standard blue'd finish...

I don't claim to know a blessed thing about Sig's other pistol finishes, but I was less than impressed with the way the Nitron held up on my GSR. I still really like the gun, but it's now a matte stainless.

eta: the frame seems to be holding up fine...hence, the 2 tone

It's the same stuff on their p220's, etc. at least the slide since the frame is alloy. The gsr's frames should be the same as their slides, nitron over stainless, unless one has a c3 with an alloy frame. MANY people have wound up with stainless slides due to the holster wear to the nitron. I got the nitron because it was cheaper and I know eventually they will look like the stainless models anyway.;) There may even be some mahovsky's hard chrome in the future.

Thanks if i wear it off i can always get a stronger one put on. The sigs i had in the army were carried alot and not shot much. Three shifts a day passed off to the next guy on duty for who knows how long. It really showed on the bbl and slide edges. well we will see how it goes
