I'm thinking of doing a build. Officer's frame with a Commander slide. But it needs to be an alloy frame.
I tried Caspian but they only do steel. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any information is greatly appreciated.

If you do a search for "1911 frame" the alloy ones show up once in a while.

Technically, they do carbon steel, stainless steel, and titanium. Titanium would probably be good for you, but it is rather pricey.
I also check Essex, but (a) they don't do alloy, and (b) they don't have an Officers frame.
Perhaps a call to Brownells would be informative. If they don't know where to get it, it may not be get-able. (To get their number just click the Brownells box in the sponsor panel at the top of the screen)

I have seen posts on other forums saying that Wilson Combat sells them but their website only lists them in carbon and stainless steel. Their website does say that they can build a Stealth Comact on an aluminum frame so you might give Wilson a call and see. Please let us know what you find out.

I'll try Brownell's and Gunbroker. I just don't understand why it would be so durned difficult to find? Colt has the Defender and STI has the Escort so SOMEONE has to be making them.
I just recently thought of SVI and will give them a call tomorrow.
Thanks for your help guys! :)
