That's pretty sharp! Nice find.

Thanks!

So he gets his propers - Blackhawk found it within 30 seconds of being on the show floor. I was walking right by it because RIAs are not typically under glass :)

Feel like it was a good deal and Blackhawk must be praised for his bloodhound-like senses and the kindness to point it out.

This picture does not do it justice. It's a rainy day, so this was a quick shot on the dining room table. Just wait to the sun comes out... :) Except for the idiot mark, the finish is darn near perfect.

You done good. Which show was it? I went to the one in Fort Worth this past Saturday and saw several RIAs, but no compacts, tacticals, or commanders. The prices seemed to be reasonable, between $360-$375 ish.

I want one. Where can it be?

This was found (by Blackhawk :)) at the show in Springdale, AR. There were a few full size GI models for $399 to $499 (!) give or take. This one was $400 and appears to be well cared for.

I had a compact in mind as well as this commander (prefer the full size frame), both of which seem to be a little difficult to come by, so I jumped on it.

Except for the idiot mark, the finish is excellent. The test comes on Saturday at the range.

I would sure like to find one in Okla.

Yes, it looks brand spanking new. $400 is a great deal for a fine looking piece. We'll be interested in the range report. Bet you can't wait.

Nope, can't wait. Of course, for around $600, I could be convinced not to even try and let someone else - perhaps in Oklahoma ;)

Hey AK! - back from the high seas or just in port?

Yeah, I am pleased as I can be with this find. I field striped and cleaned it (didn't need much), added the Pearce fingergrooves under the grips and put it away on Saturday. Sunday, took it out again to log it in the Gun Safe software and put it away.

Tonight, I cold blued the idiot mark and, naturally, cleaned it again. The more I handle it and look at the details, the more I like it. Fingers crossed, hope it shoots as good as it looks.

Guys, I'm back until somewhere around the middle of October. I'm liking what I'm seeing in the new ROCKS. After I get a couple of others that I have in layaway out there is probably going to be another ROCK hitching a ride home with me. With the way the new Tac models are laid out you can bet they still fall into the CHEAP GUNS that we are looking for. I've turned on several to the ROCKS and have sent many this way to beat you guys with any questions that they may have had if they didn't want to go on just my say so. It might even be a time to do a new version of the SPIDERS, heck even Spiderman is into his third film now. IF only there was the 9mm that a lot of us are wanting.
