I just got my first DW. It is a Pointman Dave Pruitt signature series and get this it is serial no. 00093. The trigger seems quite light and smooth. You guys know all the particulars. Not more practice taking it appart and puitting it togather again.
Not sure if I want to keep it...I wanted stainless since this is a constant cary piece and I am affraid of holster buffing of the bluing. Stainless is so easy to clean and keep clean.
Anxious to shoot it after the snow and rain stops... I would post pictures if I knew how how.
A 1911 is a nice step up from my Ruger P-90. A real gun...SHWING!

We are looking forward to a range report (but then, we DW fans know how well the gun shoots:D )
Congrats!

Welcome to the Dan Wesson-side, mrjata.
That Dave Pruitt is a fine, fine looking gun. I regret not jumping on one when they were in production.
I wonder how they would look in stainless? They sure do look good in blue with the rosewood grips.
Just like Stumbler says, we know how DW guns shoot. You know, boom, boom, boom, boom, center of target falls out, owner takes credit.....

Are all DW triggers and actions this smooth? This is a lot smoother than Kimbers I have handled. I was wondering about stainless too........

(In a whisper...) Some secrets should not be listed in a public venue. Then others will find out and the price will sky-rocket.

Stumbler, you are right about the word getting out. We should keep our voices down and keep this among "us girls". Ido have to be more careful. Heh Heh Heh.
(Now, you can barely hear this.....)
mrjata, my first Dan Wesson was a Patriot Expert in stainless. This blaster is very smooth. The slide runs silky smooth, and very tight. The trigger was a tad clunky when I first got her, then after about 300 or 400 rounds the trigger and the slide melded into a smooth running machine. I have no trouble with the 2-piece guide rod, and just as a matter of personal preference, mine seems to run smoother with the 2-piece guide rod in it.
I also have a Patriot Commander that I picked up a few weeks ago. I am still wringing her out. I can say the fit and finish is every bit as good, if not better than my Patriot Expert. The Commander has the XS sights, checkered MSH and Slide Stop, and a top-drawer trigger. This trigger was good from the first round. Chip McCormick parts, I believe.
I believe one of the best features of the Dan Wesson's is the Series 70 firing system. No firing pin block, no buggered trigger group, no ILS. Just a boomswitch and sear to drop the hammer.
I am very happy with both of my Dan Wesson's. Looking forward to the next one, just have to figure out which one..... Maybe a Dave Pruitt in Stainless?
(Shhhhhssshhhh. Now, don't tell anyone, OK?)

Thanks for the replys, all. I do like this Pruitt except for the fact that it is blued. I know from past experience that the bluing will buff off over time and the stainless will just get smoother. I am thinking real hard of selling this pruitt or trading it for stainless maybe a Patriot Expert. I don't really need the adjustable sights. I just want to get it right and leave it alone. I do like the smooth ramped sights for smooth draw in a pinch. I am definately hooked on DW. Think I will go skip some glocks on the pond tomorrow, OOPS, did I say that outloud? thanks all!!

I would post pics for all if I could get figure out how to do it. I tried to use the "photobucket". After 2 hours, no pictures, no patience. If you want a pic, I will e-mail you some, just let me know. Although this is a FINE piece, I am still leaning toward the stainless. mrjata@hotmail.com
