hi there
my bro in law has a chance to purc hase a series 70 mark 4 nib blue walnut grips from a lady. it was her dads and she is selling it he wants to know what a fair offer would be. it is new never fired as far as she knows never been out of box any help appreciated

Well, you didn't mention caliber or frame so assuming Government Model in .45ACP, current Bluebook says:
Government Model MKIV/Series 70
100% Condition $1000
add 10% if NIB, 20% if early 2 piece box
add 10% if .38 super, 9MM Para or 9MM Steyr
add 10% if Satin Nickel

In other words, offer her $500 :D

I would inspect it. Also call Colt to check its year of manufacture. Sometimes what people think is NIB (New In Box) is RIB (Rusted in Box), or sometimes the finish has damage from SIB (Storage In Box). If you can, post pictures of the pistol and greater minds than I can look at it.

In my on little world I have seen them sold from $500 to $1200 depending on how they look and the fit and finish of the pieces.

i talked to him last night, he says it is in absolutely perfect cond. in a brown 2 pc box 5 inch barrel blue, and said it says gold cup something!! sometimes he is slow so i told him to go look again and take pics
