I have a series 80 gold cup and was wondering where a I could get a sear for it, and if I could put a regular sear in it (one without that spring)? And if so should I or is it nessasary to also replace the trigger? Thanks for any info?

You can replace the sear and leave the spring out. It's there to keep the sear from bouncing, and help it stay engaged into the hammer.
If you replace the sear, make sure it's fitted properly to the hammer.........

I believe if you do leave the sear depressor leg and sear depressor leg spring out you better go to an aluminum trigger.

Dlask had some great Magnesium and Titanium triggers in Gold Cup width. I think Joni had one in one of her Gold Cups. Used to be able to get them through Brownells, and I think you still can.
