Okay, I did a search looking for the dimple on the Metalform Magazines. I found plenty of into on the importance of the dimple (some even said it was more of a pimple), but I’ve not been able to find a photo or description of where this dimple is located on the follower.

Where on the follower is the dimple????

When ordering the Metalform mags from Brownells, how do I know which Metalforms have the dimple (pimple) and which ones don’t???

Can you help me out 1911 Tuner????

Howdy Dano,

The...thing...is located close to the middle of the follower, and you can be assured of gettin' a follower with it there by ordering the standard 7-round,
flat follower from Metalform. Incidentally, the same follower works in the standard
6-round Officer's Model magazine...along with the 11-pound Wolff spring.

If you decide to call Metalform, take a piece of advice and pop for the stainless followers. They're a little tougher and harder than their carbon counterparts.

If you're planning on ordering complete magazines, you can save yourself
a few headaches by ordering the Wolff spring upgrade for a nominal extra cost. Only available in stainless magazines, but well worth the slightly higher price. If you have to have blue magazines, you'll have to order the Wolff springs from Brownells and swap'em yourself. Just be sure to order 7-round mags with the flat followers. Available with welded or removeable bases. They've even got magazines with a lanyard loop.

Luck!

My Ed Brown Kobra Carry came with "Ed Brown" magazines. Nothing more than welded base, round top follower MetalForms. They've been flawless.

Got a link to the importance of a dimple?

Howdy Chuck,

Surely! Hit the Gunsmithing forum and open Magazine Function: TheDimple.
Ya might wanna also have a look in the Magazine forum at Magazine Burps.

That dimple is there for a couple of good reasons.
