My grip safety thing makes squeaky grinding noise when I hold it. Could I ask about this in general 1911 board or is the grip safety made differently for Kimber II's?

Thanks.

Thanks.I believe the "Gunsmithing, Troubleshooting & Refinishing" forum is the correct location for your question.

I think TucsonMTB made a valid point, so I moved the thread to a location where you're more likely to get a helpful response.
In passing, if the grip safety is making a grinding and squeaking noise whenever you depress and release it, something is not right internally.

We will now await the postings of the REAL experts. ;)

Mine did that. I found just the slightest contact on one side. Does it stick at all? Is the gun or safety new? Did it develop after dis/re-assemly?

thank you. I wasn't sure if Kimber was suppose to do that or not, since i was told some parts are different.

I shot about 1000 round through it since I purchased it couple weeks ago. I've never disassembled it fully, only field stripping it.

Once again, Thank you
