I just received an email from him last week. I know a few things on the site haven't been updated in a while....a lot of the items that say "not in stock" actually ARE. That's what i had asked 'em.
Good Luck!

I spoke to him just a few short weeks ago and he was very much still in business, just swamped with work. Very personable, informative, and helpful. A pleasure to do business with, I had my grips in two days and they are exceptional.
I expect this sites sponsors are all of this caliber.

I contacted VZ months ago about some grips (by email) and never got a response from them. I ordered other grips from elsewhere and more than likely, will never order from them.

Two orders placed and both have been excellent products backed with excellent service. It is pretty much a one man operation and my contact has all been over the phone.

They just did a special order (odd size and so on) for my adventurer and I did not have any problems. I would not write off a company that makes a great product that fast. If they had your money and did not respond it's one thing, but people can get back-logged on information requesting emails.

+1 on contact by phone.

I left messages on both phones listed, still no return call or email. I think it's because I want to swap grips, which I got from them in December. They have never been mounted and are still in the little baggie they came in. I had a custom Commander built and half way through I changed the frame color. The blasted Black micarta won't go with the color scheme. I want to swap for some black Operators. Maybe they don't want to exchange, which is cool, I just need to know so i can sell these and order another set.

I just think that not responding after MONTHS is just bad business, I know that people just get busy, but wow. Why would I order something from someone that won't even return an email? In my situation, I ended up finding exactly what I was looking for at a lower price at another company, so that company has got my business. JMO ;)

INTrooper are you sure they even got the email? If their inbox was overloaded, their ISP might have bounced your email. Did you send a follow up? I wouldn't base it on just one email.

It's been so long, I don't remember, but I would say that I just sent them the one. These days, with most companies, you can't get in touch with them by phone, so I usually just email. At any rate, you shouldn't have to beg a company to spend your hard earned money. Too many of these companies have gotten away from custom service with the internet age. JMO

EDIT: I went back and checked my sent emails (I never delete any) and I sent two seperate emails with pictures attached in reference to the grips that I wanted, I am still waiting after 7 months!!

Then I would be inclined to agree with you. Whomever was responsible for answering emails dropped the ball if you sent more than one with no reply.

I ordered grip screws a few weeks ago and they were delivered.

INTrooper I am sorry to hear of your problems. As you can tell from so many replies, there are quite a few people on this board who have supported the sponsors and received great service. Working in customer service myself I know you hear about the one problem and not the 100s of happy customers. Perhaps this post will be seen by the folks at VZ and will help them improve their service.

I recently called to ask about an aluminum mainspring housing for a Kimber Compact, because short MSHs weren't listed on the web site. I ordered the MSH on the phone and had it in four days. And I'm really glad I did. It's an excellent product.

Well, I gave up on them, sold my VZ grips and ordered a set of GUNNER Grips. It doesn't make a hoot if you have a great product but don't want to sell it. I couldn't get them to answer the phone or return calls or emails. I guess they just don't like me at VZ????

Guys, I buy my grips from either www.linvilleknifeandtool.com or www.cylinder-slide.com. The grips are nearly the same and you can't beat the prices!! Again, VZ won't get any business from me!

I love those two sites, I wish I had found them sooner. The Gunner grips were about $30 more than these. Oh well, you can never have enough grips, huh.

OKAY!!!!! I finally got a call from John at VZ. They have a new shop number 850-422-1911. It seems they did have a computer malfunction and lost a bunch of emails. John has been trying to get back to everyone he thinks he missed.

I'm always one to give a guy a break so I will retract all the dogpiling I have been doing on VZ and give them another chance. John said in his phone message they usually didn't take returns after such a long a time (December, I really don't blame them for this ) but John did say he would work something out. Good enough for me. Learned allot about grips through this thread though, Thanks to all of ya'lls input.

I'm glad to hear that for you, but I think that I will still stick with Linville Knife and Tool and Cylinder and Slide for all of my Micarta Grip needs, and keep the extra cash in MY pocket! :)

It's my understanding that the gentelman that is making the grips for Linville was formally working for or associated with VZ.....thus the high quality of the Linville grips.....I too, have sent an E mail to VZ and have yet to receive a reply!

Yes, Dick Atkinson is the guy. He is now making grips that are being sold by several companies, including some guy in Texas.
