hammer pin

is the hammer strut pin a tap-in fit or is it peened or staked ?
I am going to put a new hammer and sear in my RIA 1911 38 super
probably from chip McCormick

It gets tapped in place and then it's a good idea to put a dimple right next to the pin hole with a pointed punch on each side of the hammer to keep the pin from walking

RIA's are staked (at least mine was) and it was easier to by a new strut and pin then to mess around with the old one.
