Thanks for this great resource. I have learned quite a lot about this handgun in a short time.

I do have to mention one thing about the site that is driving me nuts. In the Technical Issues page here: http://www.m1911.org/technic_forum.htm there are javascript links to the articles that open fixed size windows. I prefer to open all windows to max so I can more easily read the page and this is very inconvenient to be unable to do this. I didn't buy a 20" monitor to be forced to use windows that are 320x320. Just a little web-authoring tip...

Thanks again.

Josh, the window in which these articles are shown is 800x550 and the reason for that is because when it was started, the majority of users were using 800x600 resolution. Even today, if you check the monitor statistics in the Statistics menu, in the Forum Statistics, you will see that still 25% of the users use this analysis, so anything larger can be inconvenient.

To accomodate larger resolutions, I made that window resizable though, so you got a point there.

Some of us have no choice. My travel notebook computer supports only 800x600 on its own screen, although it will drive an extaernal monitor at higher resolutions.

The desktop computer I bought from Dell a couple of years ago has a video card that supports insane resolutions. However, what they didn't mention in the specs is that they shipped it with a 15" monitor that is not capable of displaying better than 800x600. (Don't ask me how I know.)

So my thanks to John for remembering that we are not all on the cutting edge. I visit another site where the system admin routinely adjusts everything according to the latest and greatest hardware, and then derides those of us who can't afford to catch up. John's approach is preferable.

But the ability to resize or maximize is a good idea.
