i have an m-7 shoulder holster and i'm not sure exactly how it was meant to be worn. does the shoulder strap go straight up and rest on my left shoulder or does the strap cross the front of my chest diagonally and rest on my right shoulder. it seems to work both ways but i'm sure there is one best way. thanks!

I am not familiar with that holster by the M-7 designation but I can tell you this. No part of a shoulder rig should cross the front of your body regardless of who makes it. That strap across the front of your chest would broadcast that you were packing, in the event that your cover garment ever came open. I hope this helps you out.

The M7 is a military holster normally issued to tank crews (etc.) and looks like this:

The loop with the wide sholder pad goes -- you guessed it! -- over your left shoulder. The other strap runs behind your back, across your chest, and hooks to the same D-ring as the over-the-shoulder strap.

One of my sergeants taught me how to rig the straping in a figure 8 which elimiates hooking and unhooking and puts the pistol under the armpit rather than over the left breast pocket.

(That's the only photo I could find quickly and doesn't show how the holster is worn, But if you have one it's pretty easy to figure out.

Sorry. I stand corrected. I was thinking of the modern concealment holsters.
