I have a Colt MK IV Series 70 that was denting the shells during ejection. It looked like the rim of the loading case was scraping it hard enough to dent it before it left the chamber. I replaced the extractor and ejector with parts from Fusion. Mistake? Now not only is the case being dented but it is also being slammed into the front of the ejection port. I could use a little help.

Have you tuned your extractor? Try looking here under "extractor tuning and installation tips."

You could search the gunsmithing section for similar problems too.

I've had this colt for about 6 months now and only after asking someone the question did i fool around with it enough to figure it out. The ejecting case is hitting the bottom right of the ejection port. The force and the dent are relative to the number of rounds left in the clip. The more in the clip the harder the dent. I am a reloader and i like to save my brass so save having the port lowered is there anyway i can fix this?

had a ejection problem with a new "70" series COLT ejecting brass at the wrong angle, I worked with the extractor to correct the angle of ejection, I haven`t got it perfect yet but it is a lot better. It [the brass] doesn`t hit me, or the top of the slide port now but like I said, It is not "just right" needs a little more work. Maybe the above link may help. LOL
