Is the RRA NM Hardball model throated specifically for Ball ammo ie narrow throat, or is it a wide throat so it can feed/cycle all kinds of ammo(semi-wadcutter, HPs)? I would be purchasing it mostly for Hardball but I like to change bullet types every now and then.
Thank you!

RRA uses Kart barrels. Don't worry, be happy ;)

If you request it we can throat the barrel so that it will work with wad ammo. You will need to change your recoil spring of course when switching between ball and wad ammo.

Thanks for the reply! I change recoil springs in and out on some of my other so that won't be a problem.
Govtmodel, if memory serves most Kart barrels come unthroated, and it appears RRA throats their own barrels.
Thanks.

My Hardball feeds wadcutter and hardball fine. Just switch out the springs.

One last question:
I know the Hardball is for DCM, but if I request it, could the trigger be set to 3.5lb instead of 4?
Thanks.

Yes, it sure can. Just need a note on the order.

Thanks for the reply :D
This is the last question, I promise: If I request a high rise Ed Brown style beaver tail on the Hardball, will RRA bob the spur hammer to install it, or would I have to pick a commander style hammer?
Thanks.

Scratch that question. I ended up ordering (I think, already had my dealer change my order once :D )a NM Hardball throated to feed wadcutter, 25lpi front/mainspring, trigger set to 3 1/2lb, bullseye hammer, Ed Brown beaver tail and to top it off I got it accurized. Probably a pretty weird order, I bet most people wanting a pistol like what I ordered would have just gone with the Basic Limited.
Mark, thanks a lot for answering all my questions, I really do appreciate it :) Who knows, you may work on my pistol :D
Now to patiently wait 6 to 8 months (I'm expecting around 10), It's gonna be hard :D

A spur hammer will not work with a beavertail safety. You need to order a round or an oval hammer.

As good as Rock River pistols are, what are they going to have to do to "accurize" it?
And, I'm curious to ask, what is the real difference between what you ordered and the Pro Carry model? ;)

I bet most people wanting a pistol like what I ordered would have just gone with the Basic Limited. You basically end up with a Basic Limited without front cocking serrations, a standard GI thumb safety and a bullseye hammer. I didn't run the numbers but you may have saved a few dollars going this route.
As good as Rock River pistols are, what are they going to have to do to "accurize" it?That's a trade secret :nono: . Actually we build and fit all of the pistols the same. Most of them shoot the minimum group size of 2.5 inches at 50 yds. the first time out to the Ransom rest. To get the 1.5 inch guarantee requires additional inspection of the barrel contact surfaces for unbalanced wear patterns, make adjustments where needed, than back out to the range to re-shoot. The match ammo we use is expensive and it pulls two people off of their bench every time we go to the range. This is where the additional expense come from for the accuracy enhancement.
And, I'm curious to ask, what is the real difference between what you ordered and the Pro Carry model? The Pro Carry would come with fixed night sights, extended tactical mag catch, and an Ed Brown tactical thumb safety.

Pretty much what Mark said. The Pro carry has a few features I don't really need for target shooting, so if I don't need the bells and whistles associated with a carry pistol theres no need to spend the extra green on them.

Yeah, I don't really like how the front serrations look, I couldn't find an ambi safety I liked, and I prefer the JMB recoil system over the full length 2 piece.

I prefer the JMB recoil system over the full length 2 piece. Oh yeah, I forgot about standard guide rod and plug.
