Hello all,
I am wondering what is the cheapest rear adjustable sight I can buy? (and won't break/ is not a piece of trash). Also, what kind of setup do you veterans recommend for a front sight? (maybe tritium)
Thank you,

I would suggest a plain black Novak adjustable, with a tritium dovetailed into the front.

The question is a bit vague, on which pistol you want to use it? And what sight is that pistol's slide cut for? And do you want to machine your slide or not?
And finally (not that it's any of my business but) why do you want an adjustable sight?

Unless you absolutely, positively MUST HAVE elevation adjustment, go with a fixed rear, which will allow for windage. Plain black. Glowie dot in the front.

It is a government 1911 and the slide will be milled by a professional. Would anyone suggest a rear adjustable novak with white dots with a tritium front, or no?

Bump,
Also what brand to use for the front sight with a possible novak rear sight?

If I am going to carry or conceal a firearm, I don't like adjustable sights. I was surprized by the fact that night sights (same color front and rear) can easily be misaligned in very dark situations. I like the green front-yellow or orange rear. But I'm not 25 anymore, and my night vision isn't what it used to be. Anyway, Dave Berryhill, makes or has for sale a rear sight that can be used for racking the slide one handed if need be. I like this idea better than adjustable sights.
What is the intended usage of this pistol? If you want a carry firearm, my suggestion is a Novak tritium front, with a Novak, wide notch, two white dots rear. I do not fancy adjustable sights.

Why does everyone always give us recomendations for a carry pistol??? I never read anything like "this will be my daily carry..." Some of us like to have all the little screws on our fragile little sights....
I like the Bo-Mar tritium myself....

Well, let's see... I personally think that the reason we always recommend combat sights is that, unless you shoot PPC, bowling pin, or bullseye, IMO you really don't need adjustable sights. If you are a PPC, bowling pin, or bullseye guy, then you know who you are and would never use the word, "cheap" when asking for recommendations for sights.
If you are a range plinker, paper assassin, IDPA, IPSC, USPSA, kina guy, fixed sights will work just fine for stock classes.
