Hello Everyone,
If this has been addressed before I apologize but did not find it looking through the past posts.
I picked up my PT1911 about 3 weeks ago and have taken it to the range twice. Both times the thumb safety has worked loose, the first time loosing the plungers and spring. Is this common?
This is the first 1911 I have had with a Ambi safety and I am a little puzzled by just how the devil the thing should stay in place. While the safety halves slip together snuggly its not a "hammer Home" fit. Should it be? Also the detent hole on the safety is nowhere near round and very shallow. Would deepening the hole help?
Having been a customer(victim) of Taurus repair service I would prefer to resolve this myself if possible and ANY suggestions would be welcome.
Other then the safety eject feature I am very pleased with the gun.
TIA
