Awhile ago someone posted that Century is no longer importing S.A.M. pistols. Does anyone know if there is a new importer, or if S.A.M. pistols are still available in the US?

Howdy, just thought you might check out my new topic posted today...I found one in great shape priced at $350- though the guy has been known to deal pretty good...

I don't think it was ever off line. That's the manufacturer. The problem is -- who (if anyone) currently imports their guns? I know enough about them that I'd like to look at a couple, maybe buy one, but there does not appear to be an importer currently bringing them into the U.S.

Hawkmoon:

The last I'd heard, Century Arms was the only current importer. One odd thing I noticed on one of the Cmdr. length models I saw at the last gun show; the company name is technically Century International Arm's, yet the pistols import marking is stamped CAI, or Century Arm's International. Maybe they just didn't want to stamp "CIA" on the pistols! :D

Here's a link to their PDF brochure on the SAM 1911's. Their tel# number, etc. is listed at the bottom:

Hopefully they're still bringing them in. The one I saw at the show was only $319-bucks and looked pretty decent.

I got an E-mail from Mr. Rhone Malcolm DeLeon of S.A.M. stating that Elite and Military model 1911's will be shipping to Century within a month. He didn't give specifics on whether the green models are coming as well.

I like the picture of the Commander-length pistol in that brochure. Finally a pistol for southpaws!!
