For the fun of it I put in a bid on E-Bay for a Fusion Mag Well Main Spring Housing and won the bid at $42. It listed for $79.95 at Fusions web site so I figure I got a deal. I installed it yesterday and it does require some fitting as the ribs that slide into the frame are a little thicker than the stock Main Spring housing. A little bit of filing and it fits just fine. Also it came with a main spring which I installed as well, I will probably put the original one back in or buy a reduced power one. The factory main spring is a little stronger because my trigger pull increased from just over 4# to just under 5#. For those interested the mag well and housing are both machined while the factory part is MIM, I don't have any problem with MIM parts. The checkering on the Fusion part is more crisp than the factory part as well.

If you have a drill press, replacing the main springer is really easy. Just cut a piece of 1/8" brass rod about 1" long and chuck it in the drill press. Raise the base or lower the motor so you can fit the main spring housing with all the internal parts inside under the brass rod. Align the rod with the center of the main spring plunger and lower the press compressing the main spring until you can slide the pin (provided) in the hole above the plunger. When the pin is all the way through release the pressure on the spring and you're done. The only thing to be careful of is the bottom of the main spring housing is not flat so make sure it doesn't slip. Of course you can do this just using the regular press function but if you don't have a way to lock the head down it's kind of awkward getting the pin in.
