Tactical Custom II Loose Ambi

I have a fairly new Tactical Custom II. To date it has less than 500 rounds through it. I recently noticed that the right side ambi safety has become noticeably looser than when I first purchased it. It has 1/4" of vertical play before it engages. Is this normal? Is there a simple repair I can do myself? Any advice is appreciated.

Remove your safety and very carefully tighten up the slot where the two parts fit together. Careful, that slot is not a very strong area, you could crash the two ends together and break them.

Thanks for responding. I'm a newer 1911 owner and have not yet tackled taking down the 1911 in any detail. Is there a recommended 1911 bible I should buy that would guide me in working on it? While not as complicated as the 1911, I have been to both Glock and Sig Armorer courses and feel competent to the task with a proper guide book.
