Im degreasing some parts ready for a paint job, ive already suspended my slide and frame in acetone, what about the barrel? Can i just throw it in there without it damaging the barrel? Will it effect the accuracy?

Because thats what i have at hand but will it damage my barrel and how long should i keep it in the drink? I'll spray it and rinse it off when it comes out.

OK!
Dunk it and Air dry it right away, It won't remove lead or copper... ;)

Thanks. i'll give it a go, i'll spray it afterward with acetone until it drips and then let it dry incase it leaves a film.

The material used to stick pics to a wall. You can find it at office supply stores. It leaves no residue and adheres better than modeling clay.

Hahaha i used tape in the end!!! Twin Oaks it worked fine, but it was high strength bond tape so there was no chance of it coming off. I had to take my time and apply it correctly to make sure of no gaps, etc. I then used 2 sight punches and 2 pieces of cloth to clog up either end of the barrel as ight as possible. Sprayed the parts and removed the tape and punches with the cloth, no sign of paint anywhere on the sights or inside the barrel and the cloth came out claen with an outline of the outside of the barrel. I heated the oven put the parts in closed the door, opened the cupboard to put my gloves in the bin and there was the Bluetac just sitting there looking at me. QUALITY.
