I have located a series 80 government model, blue, in 9mm. The pistol is about 96%, no scratches, no box, no manual and the asking price is $749. Although I have always wanted a Colt in 9mm, this seems a little high. Since I appreciated the wealth and depth on knowledge on this forum (and others) let me know what you think!

To buy or not to buy, this is the question......to trade?; for in that trade of gun what Colt's may come? Ah, there's the rub.

I paid a wee bit more for mine, which sounds identical. You have to remember that 9mm are more rare and also highly desired it seems, so the price will be somewhat higher than 45s. You'll also find that the Super 38s are higher than 45s as well.

Doesn't sound too bad to me, but Larry Starling and Paul 45 are out beating the bushes all the time for Colt's and they know what this model sells for as well as anyone.

Doesn't sound all that bad to me...I just recently paid a tad more for a Series 70 9mm Government (no box) with a tiny nick in the slide that I wanted for a shooter. And a whole lot more for a NIB 9mm Combat Commander! Sure wish Colt would make a current production 9mm.

The price sounds reasonable, I would buy it if I were you.

Jump on it! If you think it's in pretty good condition, the price sounds reasonable. Is there any chance of haggling it down? It can't hurt to try. ;)

Good idea to haggle, in any event buy the gun ASAP!
