RIA feed problems

I've had the RIA for a few months now and i've put about 100-150 rounds of fmj roundball through it and it truly is a great gun, but recently it has started jamming some. The front of the shell goes up into the barrel, but the back of the shell is stopping before it goes all the way up. it looks kind of like the ejector is stopping the shell from going all the way up. i've tried different magazines w/ the same results. could the ejector have gotten bent somehow, if so can i bend it back or do i need to replace it? i know these things are covered w/ a warranty, but i don't want to part w/ it if i can avoid it. thanks

Shoot another 200 rds of 230 gr Full metal jacketed Brass cased ammo through it with the factory magazine. ;) Make sure the pistol is not " Dry"

Ivan has good advice,make sure gun is lubed up,and slap a few more rounds through it and see what happens.

Have you cleaned it? If not, clean and lubricate properly as stated above and see if there isn't an improvement. If not, I'm sure Ivan will take care of the matter.

Sounds dirty and/or dry to me. I bet a good clean and lube would do the trick.

Polish the feeding area. That totally took care of my feeding problem. Use a dremel to get that mirror finish that you need to get the realiblity you want. RIAs rock!

As always, thanks for the advice guys. I'll give it a good clean and lube, and keep putting rounds through it. i cleaned it after the first 25 rounds, but it didn't look dirty after that. of course this gun is a bit tighter than my other 1911's and the first one i've bought NIB. I agree w/ everyone and i love this pistol, even getting pretty decent w/ the mil-spec sites. thanks again.

For God's name please ignore this suggestion. No polishing and no Dremel near the gun. This is a failure to return to battery and has no relationship to the feeding ramp.

The only thing you should do, at this moment, is to make sure there is no crud in the extractor tunnel (I think you meant the extractor, not the ejector which is the metal piece at the left of the frame). Since the rear of the round is not going up under the extractor, and it is kind of strange for the extractor to have developped more tension that it initially had, the most possible explanation is that the extractor can not move enough to allow the round's rim to go under its claw. Dirt can do that.

yes, i did mean extractor, i caught that after i wrote the first post. Don't worry, polishing feed ramps is a big no no, at least for me. it looks exactly like the rim of the shell is not going all the way up under the claw of the extractor, so hopefully a good cleaning will cure it. i imagine that after a few hundered rounds it will "loosen up" a little and not be so tempermental about being dirty.

We had the same problem with my husbands RIA, and it was a slightly bent extractor.
