Brand new, blued in the box. Local guy here will be getting one in and said he will hold it for me.

The ones I've seen are just below a grand.

925-975 will probably be best you will find if you have a guy who will work with you a little. The blued ones seem to be in greater demand. The flat top really makes that pistol ;) The bluing is also very well done :D
Good luck you will love that Colt.

That's the range I've seen recently. They are sweet pistols!

alright cool I'm going to get it then. I just got two gunsites and I love those but it seems that is harder and harder to find any really new colts. So when he told me this I jumped on it.
He has an older nickel series 70 colt he wants a little under a grand for but when I heard he was getting this in I was like awesome hold it for me until I can look at it. He said its taken about 6 months to get another one in after he sold the last trophy cup.

Saw my first new Colt in a long time at a local shop. A stainless Gold Cup Trophy. Guy wanted $1070 for it. I have a blued one I picked up new last year that I love but I couldn't stop myself from admiring this one. Something about those Colts!
$1070 is way too much though. I don't know what the retail is but I have seen the prices creeping up recently. I'd expect to pay about $950 now.
I got mine for about $880 last year. Glad I got it when I did.

Budsgunshop.com has a SS GCT for 953.00 now, but then you pay shipping and transfer fees as well.
http://www.ajcsportshop.com/goldcup.html AJC has a blued one listed for 845.00, I think they charge 30.00 to ship and if your FFL charges 25 to tranfer that puts you at 900.00
Good luck!

I paid $925.00 in 12/06 (from my dealer in Williamsport, PA). I bought a blued model because of the flat top on the slide. This is by far my favorite Colt and she only comes out of the safe when I'm going to the indoor range to shoot wad cutters.
The only problem was with the rear sight retaining pin (COLT sent 2 replacements and were very helpful). Otherwise, it's been perfect. You can't go wrong buying this model.

Hey how you doing, were you the guy at the bowling pin shoot that just got his gun back?

No, but I know who you are thinking of.
I like the flat top slide blue model a lot better and think the SS model looks a bit gawdy. I fired a 226/250 with my brand new trophy model and had hardly any practice with it. My first thought was to go with a Kimber but Frank convinced me that anything other than a COLT is just horse'in around. I really like his store. This guy knows his stuff and will never try to sell you a piece of junk.

same here the guy is honest and he speaks the truth. I've been trying to help his sales out a little to try and introduce him to ffl internet sales but he doesn't like the idea.

My circa 1997 SS GCT has a flat top, don't the newer Stainless ones have a flat top?

The newer ones have a BoMar or BoMar style rear sight and a round top. The blue one still has the flat top.
Is that the Colt ambi safety on it? It looks nice.

Thanks Joni, That's a shame, the flat top sure sets it apart!
