1st dumb check -- if everything else is assembled properly (no safety pieces bent, grips installed correctly, nothing broken, pins installed correctly...)
and there is a gap between the right side safety and frame...
It just needs to be pushed together.
Brace the left side safety against a wood block and tap the
right side safety back flush with the frame -- locking the 2-pieces
back together.
If the pieces go back together flush, then still fall apart....
The "left" side is the actual safety, the right side
snaps into it. These pieces are a tongue-and-groove
press fit with eachother. Check that the "Tongue"
side has a tongue and that the "Groove"
side has a groove (one of the legs not broken off)
If they aren't broke, test fit them together. They get pretty
tight when they lock. If not, the "Groove" end needs to
have the legs bent in a little.
If lightly tapping the safetys together won't close the gap
at the frame -- either a safety piece is not installed
correctly, is bent, or pins are in backwards.
If the left side won't go in flush -- make sure you put it back together
correctly. The "safety" part (the actual part that blocks the hammer)
has a lip on it that fits into the big slot below the hammer pin hole.
The spring loaded detent pin has to be in front of, not under the Left
side safety.
Is the right side grip installed correctly with the little ambi tail
inside the right grip-- not holding them apart?
Pins go in from the Left side. Pin heads should be flush inside
the little holes in the frame. no T-shaped pin heads sticking
out on the right side...
Check the right side ambi piece for being bent. The part that fits
against the frame should be nice and flat all the way across
and perpindicular to the post that goes through the Beavertail hole.
If it is bent, either carefully straighten it or buy a new one.
Good luck.
