Hey folks,

who can explain me what LTP stands for ? Beside the front strap checkering and the adjustable sights on the LTP wat are the differences in those pistols for used materials, barrel grade, .....,

Don't seem to find a detailed technical view on the kimber website. I own already a Kimber Team Match II and would like to buy one of the mentioned pistols as a carry gun .

Your regards will be appreciated, as well positive as negative,

According to the 2005 Kimber catalog, both have a steel frame. The GC2 has 30 lpi front strap checkeriing and the LTP has 20 LPI. The LTP has flat top serrations on the slide and the GC2 has none. The GC2 has Meprolight tritium 3-dot night sights whereas the LTP has standard adjustable sights. The LTP weighs in at 2 oz. more than the GC2 but also has a magazine capacity of 10 versus the GC2 capacity of 8.

Those are the only difference I could find in the Kimber comparison chart. I have the GC2 and love it but have never shot the LTP so I have no real world comparison.

Good luck in you decision. Hope this helps.

LTP stands for "Limited Ten Pistol".
