Well that's everything I could think of. Have I left anything out? Is there anything I need to re-arrange or change?
I'm thinking about re-organizing the Frame detail strip section so that the checklist is in the correct order of dis-assembly.
Well, finalize it and I'll make a sticky out of it.
Garrett,
You mentioned, "Model: ex. O1991 Government."
You may want to add inspection & testing of the firing pin safety and it's related parts..

OD* that was intended only as an explanation of what I meant by model.
I did think about the FPS. What I wanted to do was come up with a generic checklist that applied to the majority of 1911s. Things like the series 80 parts, the Schwartz safety, the LDA trigger parts, are unique to those models. And might lead to confusion.
Maybe this:
A. Firing Pin Safety(if equipped)
1.function test
2.visual inspection of components
That still leaves it generic but reminds folks to inspect those parts.
What do you think?

OK, I have edited the "Detail Strip of Frame" section. I re-arranged the order of inspection to match the actual order of dis-assembly. I have also added a generic firing pin safety section.
Well, finalize it and I'll make a sticky out of it.
John, unless someone points out any other errors or omissions it's done. We can sticky in the interim. When I get time I'd like to format this and convert it to an Adobe PDF document and donate it to M1911.org. If you have the server space you could host in the Tech Issues section so folks could download it if they find it useful.

Gotcha, Garrett. ;)
Yes sir, I think that works well.

You may want to add:
Part One inspection - all magazines drop freely
Part Two, A. Barrel - condtion of crown

Good suggestions Dave. I still have some blank spaces on the printed page that I could fit that into.
P.S. to the Mods, it appears that I am past the cutoff for editing a thread so I can't make the changes discussed to the original posts in this thread.

Send me the text.
John in post #1 of this thread add this item to the list:
10. All magazines drop free
In post #2 of the thread under section A. Barrel add this item to the list:
7. Condition of Barrel Crown
If I get a chance to finish it today, I'll also send you the PDF file of the finished worksheet. Give it the once over and let me know what you think.
OK, if you are done with it, let me know and I'll make a sticky out of the whole thing.
