Hello all, I have a Kimber Pro CDP and I am wanting to install an arched MSH with built in mag well. Does anyone know if they make one that will be a direct drop-in? I know on alot of website and gun companies states that they require blending and frame refinishing. I do not care too much about the looks as long as the function is correct. thanks in advance.

It's the mag chute portion that requires blending to the frame. The MSH itself should be drop-in. The only one I've had any problem with was a cheap (not "iinexpensive," CHEAP) steel one from Sarco. And that needed only a quick touch with a file to clean it up.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me, do you have a suggestion on which brand would be a good one for my pistol. I want a stainless finish, checkered and arched.

thanks again

Well, since I am only 5 minutes from Novaks, I am going to drop the gun off today and have them install an S & A Magwell with arched MSH. I am going to add the Novak Ahrends Logo Grips as well. I will let you know when it gets back. I am not going to have them blend it to the inner frame. It will not affect anything and this is a carry gun and with a mag in the chute you will never notice it and I do not want any re-finishing.

Well, I stopped by Novaks on the way home from work this afternoon and had some work done to my CDP Pro. Here is a link to the pictures and the post in the "Kimber" section of the forum.
