Rebluing Question

I'm going to reblue one of my pistols, I have heard that you can strip the bluing off with a mix of water and some kind of acid and then wash it off with baking soda. Does anyone know tha complete steps on doing this?? Any and all help would be welcomed.

Birchwood Casey has a product that does a pretty good job of removing blueing. Don't ask how I know. :scared:

Muratic acid, you can buy it at Lowes etc.., Dilute it per instructions on bottle and dunk your peices. Removes it nearly instantly at 10% solution. Then wash in water and baking soda mix to neutralize acid.
