I'm a Bill Towner myself.

I thought Cabelas and Gander Mountain type stores were rip offs, but this looks like a good find. How is it's accuracy?

Cabelas is hit or miss, you can get some fantastic deals if you know what your lookin at, but, ripped off if you dont. Near as I can tell the Gun Library guys (who set the used gun prices) are idiots unless its a pretty new gun.

Turns out it is a Giles bullseye gun. And although it shot pretty good with the 38 super, EGW (where I dropped it for a restoration today) says its most likely been converted to 38 special.

Apparently they were reaming the super barrel out to take the 38 special.

All and All I got a 12-1400 dollar gun for 250 cause it needed reblued and the guys in the Gun Library had no clue what was in their hand.

I mean the gun itself was worth at least 2 times what I got it for even in the current condition.

Excellent score sir! Happy you did so well and on a vintage Colt too. I suggest you buy a lottery ticket this weekend and continue your streak of good luck.

Good Shooting
