Has anyone had any feed ramp problems with the Colt supplied magazine in the lw Commander? By problems I mean the magazine marring the feed ramp.
Has anyone had feeding problems with the Colt supplied magazines?
Are you loading 7 or 8 rounds?
Thanks

I carry a Commander on duty, and use Wilson 8 rounders. Use something like that, or the original flat follower with the dimple design, and you won't have any problems. If you do, let us know.........

I have heard, and read, that some alloy framed guns have been damaged by the split "Devel" type followers. The newer 8 round Colt mags I got with my XSE lightweight HAD those followers, so while I have no concrete proof of damage to a Colt gun by a Colt mag follower, I chose to play it safe and changed the followers to Wilson nylon followers. There is much info on this in the forum, look in the "magazines" forum.

There are a few posts on the Forum about the mags marring the alloy frames if you search hard enough for 'em. My Defender has a little damage from the factory magazines, but it doesn't affect functionality and my gunsmith told me not to worry about it. It's after the last round and the follower hits the frame below the feed ramp.
I have a Colt LW Commander XSE, my daily carry, and I use nothing but Wilson 47D 7 and 8 round magazines. They work all the time every time and they don't mar the feed ramp - ever.

I have found that ALL Colt 8 round mags are worthless! :( Not sure why they even make them. I have never had a problem by just switching to there 7 rounder. The mags that come with the SCG's are great I think they are McCormick but not positive on that. Good luck everybody here really likes Wilson. I have not used them however.
