I was wondering though, if it would be possible to split manufacturers and gunsmiths. Currently, the two are grouped together. (and add Tussey as a gunsmith too). :)

Thanks for the nice words, sincerely appreciated.

The question of manufacturers vs gunsmiths has puzzled me for more than a while (actually, ever since I started M1911.ORG).

When I started in this hobby, Bill Wilson was a gunsmith. Where do you put him today? I admit that there might be a couple of names in that list that are not a manufacturer per se, but I can't really say. If you have some criteria, which are better than mine, please let me know, you could solve this eternal problem of mine.

I do not know how hard this would be, but how about asking each if they mill from barstock, cast, or assemble. Caspian, Essex, Double Star are manufacturers, Tussey is a gunsmith. Let's ask the question in the forum of who is a manufacturer and who gunsmiths.
