I just wanted to say howdy. I'm new to this forum, but I was mighty glad to find a pure 1911 forum. My wife and I both own Kimbers, mine is a Custom CDP II and hers is a Custom Pro Carry II. I have had zero problems with mine, but she has had a couple of feed failures with hers. We solved the problem with Mags with stiffer springs from Kimber. We are happy K ampers.

Dean, welcome to our board, both of you, I am sure you will enjoy the staying.

Lots of nice, knowledgeable people here.

And to remember my saying "TTIUWOP" or "This Thread is Useless without Pictures".

LoL

John, I would love to post pictures of our beloved Kimbers, but my computer skills haven't extended to getting the pics from the hard drive to the forum. I welcome any advice in this area, as I would like to send pics to our grand kids too. Dean

I use the free service available from www.photobucket.com and there are probably a number of other free services.

Upload your pictures from your computer to photobucket after signing up. For each picture you store there they will provide a specific web address for it.

To add a picture to your thread or post simply click on the yellow icon with the little mountain peek on it and then enter the photobucket address for that picture in the box provided. I believe the system retrieves the picture from photobucket without tying up memory on the forum's server.

More detailed instructions are located somewhere in the forum on how to do this but I can't recall right at the moment where they are.

Dean,

There are instructions on how to add pictures in your posts, in the FAQ section of this site (scroll up to the top, and find the second blue line with the links, UserCP, FAQ etc.).

One thing you should be aware of, is that typically, if your pictures come from a digital camera, they are too large for the Internet. You should use some picture editing program, to make them smaller and of slightly less good quality. I am using PaintShop for that, but any program will resize a picture and compress it. Size-wise, 800x600 pixels is perfect for posting here.

If you need more detailed instructions, please e-mail or PM me.

Thanks for the advice, I will attempt to post pics this weekend, as time is in short supply this week. Again, thanks, and it is surely good to be among friends. There are a couple of other forums where Glock=God=Glock=God. An appreciation for 1911s goes hand in hand with the appreciation of the other fine things in this life. Dean

Welcome. You will find this to be a truly great place. However, are you saying that Glock=God=Glock=God is wrong???????? I have always heard that to be true. :)

Welcome again.

Now, aren't you folks aware of the new Automatic Warning Type I have installed in this system? Apart from catching naughty words, it has the artificial intelligence to detect posts which are trying to promote Tupperware, and issue a ... permanent ban warning ticket.

John,

I think my son must have gotten access to my computer and typed the "G" word. :)

I don't know if there is any divine connection to Glock or not.

All I can tell you is that Glock in this area seems to be a common topic primarily at the coffee table.

However, at our range where actions seem to speak louder than words, the 1911 rules.

More importantly I just noticed that the forum spellcheck function thinks a Glock is a clock. LOL

Close but not as useful as a clock.
