Hey guys, just picked up my XSE today. Love the fact that its a Colt. Alot of the current makers shoot just as well but I see them sold used for half the price a Colt would. Replacing the plastic MSH with stainless flat grooved and Wayne Novak night sights and thats all. Will fire on Sunday stay tuned for update on how it went.

I will post pics real soon. I got the .45. I heard the XSE were rare or at least a pain to find. Is this true? I saw some online NIB but they had older style sights.
I was going to go with the lightweight but it didnt have a ramped barrel, how long can the alloy frame last. I dont think it would hold up to the amount of shooting I do, around 8,000 rounds a year. My forty year old satin nickle combat commander is still shooting well and looks great. Look for photos Sunday

I don't think the XSE models are particulary rare, but Colts in general are a little less prevelent than the "wanna be's" out there because they just aren't produced in the same volume. I've got the Stainless .45 XSE Combat Commander and it's one of my favorite shooters. I also have it in the Lightweight .38 Super version, but as few rounds as I will be shooting through it, I doubt the alloy frame would ever be a problem!
