im looking at buying a Colt CCO that is 2 tone, stainless or greyish slide and a black lower, is the slide just colored gray or is it a stainless? can it be refinished black?

Yes, The early ones were two tone. And roll marked MKIV/series 80 and CCO on slide.Should consist of the following. matte stainless slide with matte blue aluminum alloy frame. should also have black hogue grips with up swept grip safety, lightweight perforated trigger. mfg 1998 only.

Sounds pretty good to me, if it's in decent shape. Haven't seen too many of these around. But I would leave it two-tone...I think it looks really good that way!

when i found out they were matte finished i scratched the finish idea, i really like the way they look as well
