How would I remove the plunger tube from the frame, and the plungers and spring from the tube? My plunger tube is beat up pretty bad and needs to be replaced before I refinish my Springfield.

Thanks
Rick

Plungers and springs are removed by pulling them out from the rear of the tube. As for how to remove the plunger tube, I have no idea, sorry.

To remove the plunger tube, try the following:
1. Put a piece of tape at each end of the plunger tube to protect the frame.
2. Insert drill bits in each end of the plunger tube.
3. Using a flat tip screwdriver, pry (gently) on the drill bits as close to plunger tube end as possible. Do a little at one end, then go to the other, but try to keep prying equal so tube comes off as square as possible.

I've done this on a staked plunger tube with good results. I do not know how this would work for a plunger tube that has Loc-Tite. :)

i forget what video i saw it in....take a round ball carbide cutter on a dremel. grind down the plunger stakes inside the magazine well. the plunger should be much easier to remove.

on a loctited plunger(or anything with red loctite) you need a heat gun to melt the loctite before it will come loose. i forget the exact temperature...someone mentioned it on one of the gun sites.
