Flaking chrome barrel

The outside chrome on the barrel on my Satin Nickel Combat Commander Series 70 is flaking off. Does the replacement barrel need to one with chrome on the outside of the barrel? CiaoBill :confused:

It's probably nickel plating and ammonia bearing bore solvents tend make the flaking worse. You do not have to use another nickel plated barrel, you can use blued carbon steel or stainless steel.
