I installed a new Wilson Combat Ejector to replace the stock one in my Colt MKIV Series 80 Goverment Model .38 Super. The old one was the kind that does not extend forward at all. I was getting a lot of stovepipes. Now with the new extended ejector I hope to eliminate this problem.
I did the best I could to pinpoint my crosspin cut in the leg of the ejector at the right height. I was just a hair off. Now the new ejector does not fit flush to the frame. There is a very small space between the frame and the ejector. It looks like it just needs to be pushed down about 1/2 a milimeter, but that is where the crosspin cut ended up. If I push it down to where it fits flush then I won't be able to insert the crosspin. I have assembled the slide and it fits well without any contact, but I have not yet fired it.
My question is will this be a problem, or is 1/2mm just too small to make a difference?
