How would you best dull the sharpoints of 20LPI checkering on a front strap?
Thanks,

You can use sandpaper backed up with a file, or just a fine file, very lightly. I like doing it with a light hammer with just light taps. Those points need to be pretty rough in order to hold the pistol against recoil...just short of drawing blood!
I always recommend against dulling them on my customers' guns, and certainly wouldn't do it on my own.

Thanks Bob. They do grip well, but they are machine cut 20lpi and while they don't draw blood, they are quite sharp. Perhaps I'll take your advice and leave them. They don't hurt, just feel cource.

240 grit sandpaper, the grey/black automotive type. Cut into 1" strips the long way. Lightly secure your frame in a vise and use a shoe-shine technique.
Check often and it will be difficult to go 'too far'.
