I've been reading around on this forum for quite some time and decided to finally get a 1911. Everyone here seems to speak highly of the Dan Wessons so when I saw this one I decided place a bid on it and won!!

While I have yet to shoot it, It looks even better in person than what the pictures show. Anyway I'm very excited and look forward to hearing what you guys think of it? Did a pay a fair price? Does anything look odd or customized on it? Is there anything I need to change on it? The shop that I had it shipped too said it is a very tight and well built with a very nice trigger pull when he inspected it. I get a feeling this wont be the only 1911 I'll be owning. ;)

I think the value of that DW 1911 shows in your excitement and enthusiasm and that is all that really matters. Having never owned a DW 1911 (though I did own a very sweet DW revolver) I can't tell you if it's been customized. As far as changes go, shoot it first and lots before you start making changes. Congrats and welcome to the forum.

Beautiful looking gun, sorry I did not see it myself. I think you will be happy with it as mine is very accurate and will feed anything from lead semi-wadcutters to hardball with no problems at all.

Great firearm.. Dan Wesson 1911's have been getting great reviews. I had a Dan Wesson revolver years back with inter-changable barrels. I remember the quality was outstanding. Good luck. Bob O

Looks to be a pre-CZ one. But looks to be in great condition.
