I disassembled my pistol yesterday in an attempt to change out the the trigger. I have a Springer LW Operator and wanted to install my 10-8 solid trigger, but it wouldn't just drop in, upon reading the package it says "oversized, requires gunsmith installation" understandable but I'm wondering what the gunsmith would do? Would it call for the width of the trigger to be sanded down to be more thin or would it require the frame opening to be made larger? I'm not comfortable with having to open up the frame but can't see how you could just thin down the trigger without scratching it up. Just wondering what's going to be involved in this replacement. Thanks in advance.

Haven't opened the Blindhog website, but regardless of what's said there the basic idea is "carve on the cheapest part". Ponder the consequences of goofing up the fitting. Would you rather mess up the receiver or the trigger?
Even if you carve on the receiver and get this new trigger well-fitted, how about later on when some other trigger catches your eye. Will this next new trigger flop around in your previously carved frame?

You were dead right in feeling uncomfortable about opening up the frame. If the Blindhog site says open up the frame, my advise is "Stop - THINK". Regards.

And to ask questions first. Kind of goes with my handy man motto of measure twice and cut once.

I like tinkering with things so going through this thought process has really helped me, as with the opinions of others. I felt comfortable with buying a 1911 after finding this forum and knew there would be valuable resources here.

Thanks for the sound advice!

You're welcome! Yeah . . . mess up the receiver and the whole gun is "tango uniform", if you catch my drift. Regards.
