So I sent my barrel and slide stop to Tuner to see if he could fix the problems frome this thread: Slide Stop issues (http://forum.m1911.org/showthread.php?t=24820) And it turns out that the barrel is beyond repair :( . So I am now looking for a barrel to replace the bubba barrel. Tuner recomends the Kart EZ fit barrel. I am looking for something that is accurate and reliable, but I am not made out of cash so I need something economical. I am inclined to go with the Kart Barrel, as I have the brownells catalog and my C&R discount. Just thought I would see what other people thought.

Kart makes very good barrels........accuracy depends more on proper fit, than quality. And kart quality is right up there with the best of them.

I forgot to ask... Brownells says that the barrels are ordinance steel "in the white" does this mean I'll need to blue it when it is fitted?

$ for $, and fit correctly it would be hard to beat the Kart barrel. IMHO

Yep. Cold blue works pretty well if you thoroughly clean the barrel with denatured alcohol and heat it up to about 150 degrees.

You always ignore 1911Tuner at your peril, and nearly always to your regret. Kart.
No need to blue it unless you want a blue barrel.

I'd second that. If Tuner says Kart, I'd get a Kart.

Sounds like I'm getting a Kart. Just have to check the vertical lug engagement to make sure I have enough. Also I noticed something on my frame that may be a problem, I'll post pics later.
