How is the best way to make a thumb safety easier to manipulate up and down

Well, let's first see what's the problem with it. Remove the thumb safety and take out the thumb safety plunger. Now re-install it and move it up and down. Does it move OK? If so, then the problem is the plunger or the plunger spring. Make sure the nose of the plunger is nicely rounded. Also make sure there are no burrs on the safety causing the plunger to bind.

Is it an ambi safety? I have a set of grips that don't have a deep enough area on the underside of the right grip for the ambi safety to function when tightly installed... I need to shave a little more out of these before I use those grips.... Just a thought.
