I want to Refinish my gun with Gunkote and the Sights will need to be removed to do it.Has anyone removed the front and rear sights on a Kimber before and can it be done with Hand tools with out causing damage...?

Why do you want them removed? I mean yes, you can remove them, but when putting them back I would expect some damage. Why don't you just mask them with tape?

John,
I thought of that but my TLE II has seen a lot of hard duty use and the finish of the slide is almost gone.the problem with the gunkote finishes is that you have to bake them at 300 degrees to cure them and I am not sure the mepro night sights could with stand it with out damage.Leaving the sights alone and just masking them would be great if it wasnt for the baking part.
