I have a Double Eagle in 10MM. And yeah, I know some consider it unattractive. The head space in this thing scares me. I am planning to replace the barrel. So I take it apart and discover the oddest looking firing pin and spring I've ever seen in a Colt. And now I can not find that spring. Of course there are not many parts available.

So my question is: Have any of you replaced the factory set up with a Series 80 .38 Super/9MM firing pin and spring? The Series 80 .38 Super/9MM
parts fit and work normally. Colt will not let me talk to any of their gunsmiths. I'm hoping some of you may have experience with Double Eagles.

I like mine in 45acp,shot the devil out of it,ran 100% with all kinds of fodder.
had a 15lb da pull, but the single action was like a nice 1911.
The correct parts are out there online somewhere, just saw them like a week ago.
I believe the topend is identical to a series 80,except for an extra cut for the da mechanism.
If the parts look and measure identical in all respects, shunt be a prob.
