I'm having a hard time getting though 'The Wait'. Dropped off my Colt XS Commander at the local gunsmith for a dehorn job, new McCormick trigger, and a Brown Beavertail... All I can think about is buying another one and what else can I do to the XS. He's only had it for a week!!! I can only imagine what I'll be like in 4 weeks!!!!!!!

Well I feel your pain. I had dropped off a Series 70 Gold Cup National Match to my gunsmith to have a little work done (I had bought it used and it needed expert attention) and the wait like to killed me. My solution is to have several Colts so when one is away you will have others for moral support.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
When you get her back a few pictures would be nice.

Brown Beavertail...
I have to ask why didn't you go with a wilson combat drop in so you wouldn't have to cut the frame and have the pistol refinished? What stlye is the trigger?
Good luck with the wait by the way. I've never been very good at waiting that long for stuff like this.

I asked him about them and he recommended a fitted solution.... Said it would all fit together better and look tighter.
The trigger should look like this one...

The trigger on that XS has been bothering me badly.... lots of slop side to side and up & down...

The Brown beavertail allows a much higher grip than the Wilson drop-ins. Actually, I think that it allows higher grip than the Wilson fitted beavertail as well.

OK, makes sense. That is a Good looking trigger. I have on that looks just like the one on a use pre-80 series LTW commander I picked up yesterday. I'm practically giving it away to a buddy at work. I want he original look.

Oh, I agreed with you John. The difference between the two just isn't worth cutting on the frame for me.
